FAQ
Are you locally owned and operated?
Yes! Unlike many of our competitors that simply contract to local contractors, Battery Roadie is based in the Bay Area. From beginning to end you will be taken care of by Battery Roadie employees. This allows us to offer the highest standard of service.
I'm not showing in your service area. Can you still help?
If you are in the Bay Area, contact us. If you are flexible with your delivery time, we may be able to assist. Distance charge may apply.
Will you install batteries in my boat, RV, or other equipment?
Yes! We are your battery experts. We can install in boats, heavy equipment, pallet jacks, wheelchairs, and more. Our technicians are specifically trained in difficult installations. Contact us for a quote and availability.
Will you deliver or install at my home or office?
Yes! We are happy to service you anywhere we are allowed on the premises and can safely perform service work. (We will not replace batteries on the side of busy highways, etc.)
Do I need to be present to have a battery installed?
No, we can arrange a no-contact way to replace your battery. You can pay online when you book your appointment, or we can send you an invoice with payment link prior to installation.
Am I expected to tip my technician?
Tips are not required or expected, however many of our customers wish to tip their technicians due to their exceptional service. It is entirely up to you; and our we have a strict policy that our technicians do not ask for or expect gratuities.
Can I cancel or reschedule my service?
Yes, you can cancel or reschedule up to 1 hour before your appointment start time. Please contact us for scheduling changes.
How long does service take?
Most vehicles take under 30 minutes.
Are there additional service charges?
Standard installation charges cover most makes and models. Battery registration and difficult installations (including but not limited to BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, and Audi, where batteries are located in the trunk or under seats, etc.) will be subject to additional charges. Please contact us for an estimate.
Why does the Make/Model search list multiple battery options?
For some vehicles we carry more than one battery option; there may be a higher warranty or more powerful option for your vehicle.
For other vehicles (primarily Porsche, VW, Audi, Mercedes, and BMW), the manufacturer will specify a certain battery based on electrical loads and options. This will also be the case on some domestic vehicles with start/stop technology. In these cases, it is important to match to what the manufacturer originally installed in the vehicle. We will be sure to match our replacement to the original battery installed.
Do I need an AGM battery?
Many new vehicles come with AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) batteries installed from the factory. In these instances we recommend you stick with AGM. However, we do not recommend installing AGM batteries in vehicles that previously used a wet-cell type. This is due to different charging characteristics and the risk that the AGM battery will be overcharged in a vehicle that originally used a wet-cell type. We will defer to your requests, but strongly suggest you adhere to these recommendations.
